NASCAR PRESS RELEASE: POCONO

The unique matte/gloss contrasting design for the No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE commemorates an exciting return to Denny Hamlin’s first win with Mavis Tire at Pocono in 2024.

Millwood, N.Y, July 10, 2024 - Continuing their successful collaboration, Mavis Tire, a leading tire and service provider, is excited to return to the first victory turf with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and driver Denny Hamlin for the July 12th-14th NASCAR Cup Series weekend at Pocono Raceway. As the nearest “Hometown” New York track for Mavis Tire, the entirely new paint scheme highlights the continuing excitement of the partnership with JGR and visually indicates the significant success Hamlin has historically achieved at the Tricky Triangle, where he secured his first win with Mavis Tire and set the record for most wins of any racer at this unusual and challenging track.

The new design features a predominantly sleek matte black base adorned with glossy teal accents for a striking matte/gloss contrast—a first for Mavis x JGR. This unique color combination was carefully designed to set the No. 11 car apart, offering a fresh departure and distinctive look from previous schemes that primarily feature teal/white or all teal. The powerful black/teal combination promises to deliver an elite presence on the racetrack.

“We wanted to pay tribute to Denny Hamlin’s historic win for Mavis Tire at Pocono in 2023 with this special paint scheme,” said David Sorbaro, Mavis co-CEO. “The matte black base with glossy teal accents is completely unique for us and it’s very exciting. This new look also reflects our commitment to innovation and reinventing our brand style together in what we plan to be a long relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing, and we’re excited to showcase it at Pocono Raceway.”

In addition to the car’s new look, Hamlin and his over-the-wall pit crew will also be wearing black fire suits to match the powerful style of the car and emphasize the adaptable, cohesive performance guaranteed by the team. The new colorway is sure to captivate fans and reinforce JGR, Hamlin, and the crew's presence as dynamic contenders in the NASCAR Cup Series.

For Joe Gibbs Racing and the NASCAR community, this collaboration exemplifies the potential for sponsors to transcend traditional roles, fostering genuine evolving relationships that enhance the sport’s appeal. Mavis Tire is committed to delivering exceptional service and the finest product available.
